Fighter jet pilots can experience upward of nine Gs, or nine times the force of gravity<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">. A NASCAR driver may experience roughly the Gs in corners of high bank superspeedways.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559685&quot;:360,&quot;335559739&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">What does all this G-Force talk have to do with your laundry operation? The bottom line \u2013 the faster you spin your loads in the washer-extractor, the higher the G-Force and the more water that is removed. More moisture removed in the washer, means less drying time necessary. For\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">instance,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0sheets or\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">pillowcases<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0spun in washer-extractor at 350+ G-Force can often go directly to the ironer for finishing, or with just minimal conditioning time in the tumble dryer.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559685&quot;:360,&quot;335559739&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Generally speaking, higher G-Force is better, though the moisture removal diminishes or plateaus around 400+<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">. Spinning a higher G-force any longer\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">than a few minutes\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">produces minimal advantages. However, the difference of a laundry operating<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">with 180 G-Force and one with 300+ is significant.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">So,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0look at G-Force as being about increased efficiency \u2013 less drying time means reduced gas consumption and greater throughput (which can help reduce overtime\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">f<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">or employees). For hotels, long-term care, athletic facilities and the like<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0high G-Force is a prerequisite to keeping loads moving<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0and costs low<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559685&quot;:360,&quot;335559739&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Like anything, there are exceptions. The PPE that firefighters wear is made of highly technical fibers. Spinning them at these ultra-high G-forces can damage\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">them, reducing<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0their protective qualities. For this reason, bunker gear should not be spun out at any higher than 100 G-Force. In the sports realm, jerseys and uniforms also may benefit from a lower G-Force<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0for the same reason \u2013 their makeup of technical fibers<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Therefore,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0it important to work with your providers of these items to ensure your laundry adopts the proper wash cycles and spin speeds.
