Set your goals and a plan to reach them with Clean Show visit

Let’s face it, if you are making the trip to Orlando for the Clean Show, you’re serious about upgrading your on-premises laundry. So, let’s make sure you get the most out of your experience at the show – come back with answers instead of more questions.
- Base concept. As you plan your Clean Show visit, one concept that should guide your activities is the difference between price and cost. Price is what you pay up front, and cost is what the machines cost you over their lives. Often the lower price machines cost you more over their useful life than the seeming “high” priced units.
- Know your costs. Driving off the idea above, it’s important to know the costs of your laundry operation. The idea being – you can’t improve what you can’t measure. So, obviously having an understanding of your laundry’s cost structure can help guide what company’s booth to visit at the show.
- Have an idea of the products/services that are must-sees and keep them as notes in your phone. These priorities should reflect things that can make a difference in how your business runs (efficiency, quality, labor). (Might we suggest exploring our powerful technology systems and new products? Booth 1505 definitely is worth adding to the priority list.)
- Plan your questions. Ever go to the grocery store with no list, just memory? Ever have to go back to the store because you forgot stuff? You don’t want to make that mistake at a show that comes around just every two years. Again, keep a list of the questions you have on the products/services on your list. PRO TIP: You don’t buy features; you invest in advantages and benefits (lower costs, better quality). So, while some booth personnel want to highlight what things “do” keep the question focus on what these features “do for me and my business.”
- Be open to learning. We can all learn more about our businesses. Plan to attend at least a few educational events and challenge yourself to come home with at least a couple of new ideas to implement.
- Network. The learning doesn’t end with the educational sessions offered. It continues through networking with other owners, company reps, industry reps, etc. Bring business cards to exchange and add socials links from the folks you meet and want to follow online.
- Nerd out. You’ll definitely want to visit the Alliance Laundry Systems booth (1505) for some Laundry Nerd fun and photos. We won’t give it away; but trust us, it’s worth the trip.
- Take notes/Set follow-ups. Coming out of the show, you’ll hopefully have follow- ups. Add these takeaways to your notes and have a plan to execute on your list. Give yourself a deadline to ensure you get the most out of your trip.
- Be flexible. While the above tips bring a bit of structure to your Clean Show experience, do not forget to be flexible to ensure time for fun. Set at least one day to take in the show with no set schedule. Often, these open days can be just as valuable.
