Visit UniMac at FDIC to see our fire service solution

Published On: March 15, 2024

While our equipment makes a difference each day in a wide range of facilities around the world, we know UniMac’s laundry machines are particularly important for one market – firefighting. Laundering turnout gear isn’t as simple as popping it in and out of the washer, transferring it to the dryer, and returning it to service. Nope. The technical (and life-protecting) fibers make laundry at the firehouse far more involved.

Nobody understands this complex process better than UniMac, as evidenced by our total solution for fire stations that we will be showing at the upcoming FDIC show in Indianapolis, April 15-20.

UniMac will be showing machines and systems that, along with industry-leading training, combine for a total solution to NFPA 1851 compliance. That total solution starts with the UW washer-extractor with UniLinc Touch control and tailored fire cycles, as well as our PPE Drying Cabinet that reduces drying time to get firefighters back to work with clean gear, fast. In addition, our industry-exclusive OPTispray spray rinse feature delivers excellent removal of soil before the wash cycle even begins.

The FireLinc™ system further simplifies adhering to 1851 requirements for tracking gear. With a few button taps and a scan of gear barcodes, it seamlessly connects UniMac equipment and PPE to log activities. FireLinc sorts by equipment ID and location, and tracks what machine (and cycle) is used. It easily exports wash history to a spreadsheet for easy tracking.

As a total solution partner for the fire industry, UniMac completes the package with industry-leading training, ensuring all staff are able to clean gear to NFPA 1851 standards, even offering a certification option in partnership with a leading Independent Service Provider.

Compromising health and safety isn’t an option, and UniMac is dedicated to serving the fire industry with laundry machinery that will not only safely clean gear fast, but provide an easy, state-of-the-art experience to ensure the job gets done right.
